This site includes books, video links and websites documenting the life and accomplishments of Martin Luther King, Jr.

Teachers and students, grades kindergarten-4th, will find this a resourceful and enriching site for their curriculum. I have included several books all dealing with King's life and legacy. It is important to offer many different titles when developing a unit.

I have taught kindergarten, 1st and 3rd grade and have used most of the included resources in my curriculum.

In 1986, a national holiday was proclaimed in King's honor. Every year we recognize his birthday on the 3rd Monday in January. This book is intended for young children and offers options for softening the facts surrounding his death. The author clearly conveys King's strength and gentleness.
